President, Foundation for Columbia’s Future
Remember those bumper stickers that you would see around Columbia from time to time, “I Don’t Believe The State“, well, it looks like that bumper sticker needs to come out of retirement. Something tells me that a 13-year-old could make a lot more money selling those than lemonade in the hot Columbia summer.

The Foundation for Columbia’s Future does NOT have an affiliation with The Pulse of Columbia, and our Board Members certainly do not and have not written for The Pulse. The only exception is the OP-ED piece written by Travis Butler, which was posted on The Pulse only after The State newspaper refused to run it.
So that begs the question, who is The Foundation, and what does it do? Great question and I would love to share this with you.
The Foundation is a bipartisan group of community and business leaders from the Columbia area who are focused on creating and sustaining a positive atmosphere of growth in the Columbia community. Many of our efforts revolve around “Good Government” practices that we would like the City of Columbia and its staff to adhere to in an effort to “Build a Better Columbia”.
If you are so inclined, please join us at The Foundation for Columbia’s Future’s upcoming events, which we will now plan to post with our new best friends at The Pulse.
Oh, and by the way, since nobody else in Columbia can come up with a comprehensive, coherent Vision, Strategy and Plan for our great city, The Foundation plans to give it a try.
Look for a new “Contract with Columbia” to be released soon. We hope you will join us in our efforts to make local government more accountable to its taxpayers and to make Columbia a better place in which to live and raise your family.
P.S. This is my first and likely only post on this blog.
